When Adela left the corporate world with the birth of her twins, she had acquired more than 15 years experience in the international tax and human resources field. As Director of Human Resource Planning at ING Americas in Atlanta she had managed a $22 million operational budget.

Somehow, managing a multi-million dollar budget often seemed much easier than finding herself at home with a four year-old son and newborn twin boys. The simple ability to grab a cup of coffee with a girlfriend or get food shopping done in peace often seemed like an impossibility. On the one hand, Adela had made the conscious decision to stay at home with her children and didn’t have a permanent need for a nanny. Yet, she still had a very busy schedule outside of the home and a lot of interests. She needed some way to to get out and about a few hours each week. Always, the question was how and where.

It inspired the birth of an idea… soon to be Bean Work Play Café.

Now that Bean is a reality, Adela has one more thing to juggle, but she also has a great place for her kids to learn and grow alongside their mom. In her “spare” time Adela is a founding board member of The Museum School of Avondale Estates, a public charter school initiative. A native of Houston, Texas, she currently lives with her husband of 10 years, and is a savvy mom to a nine-year-old son and five-year-old twin boys.
